5 Strongest Black Myth: Wukong Bosses, Ranked

Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast Is a Raging Behemoth

black myth wukong boss

This monster's attacks are both elemental and physical — it can alter its type damage depending on the environment. In most scenarios, players will find themselves confronting a rampaging beast that bombards them with powerful punches and bursts of flame. What makes it especially difficult is that the barrage is so unrelenting that it leaves little room for the player to find an opening to strike. The workaround here is to try and lure it to a location that can shift its fire attacks to ice, which becomes more manageable.

  • The Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast relies on powerful physical and fire attacks.

  • Changing the location of the fight can change its damage type.

Even the arena of this fight is potentially deadly, with molten magma on the floor further reducing a player's health and limiting their movement options when trying to dodge the beast's attacks. If players can learn to read his attack patterns and also understand the environment, then there is a chance that this raging beast can be quelled before they have to worry.

Yellow Loong Is the Toughest of the Loongs

black myth wukong boss

The most challenging of the four loongs, Yellow Loong has a smaller arena, meaning players have less room to dodge around, and this will be vital during the fight. Yellow Loong's hits are so fast and so powerful that even a single strike is enough to take down an entire health bar if the player is not careful. What truly makes this fight special though is how craft Yellow Loong actually is.

  • Yin Loong can take out an entire health bar with its combo attacks.

  • It also stalls its attacks to trick players into dodging too early.

In the second phase of the fight, once the player has gotten used to doing Yellow Loong's attack combos, there will be a slight change to make them more difficult to avoid. Instead of instantly attacking like it usually would, Yellow Loong holds back for a few seconds to trick the player into dodging, only for his weapon to strike just after the movement ends. With all these tricks a player has to be on the lookout, one cannot blame them for choosing to avoid this optional fight. However, a player must defeat Yellow Loong to get the true ending of the game.

Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master Requires a Special Item to Defeat Him

black myth wukong boss

A few things make this fight one of the toughest in the game. Putting aside the fact that at certain points the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master is actually immune to magical effects, which eliminates the complete effectiveness of the Destined One, it also requires a special side quest item to stand a real chance against it. Ironically, players can acquire this item by defeating the aforementioned Duskveil beforehand.

  • The Hundred-Eyed Daoist has an immunity to magical effects and relies on poison.

  • It requires a special item from a side quest to stand a chance of beating it in the second stage.

Unfortunately, this is not an optional fight, as players must defeat the Master to progress further through the story. They will need to brace themselves for an opponent that combines some of the worst aspects of previously mentioned enemies. Resistance to magic, the ability to use poison against the Destined One, and becoming almost unbeatable in the second phase of its fight without the special weapon gained from defeating the Duskveil make this creature an all-around pain to contend with.

The Great Sage's Broken Shell Is Basically Fighting the Destined One's Mirror

black myth wukong boss

The final boss of the game (though not the true ending boss) is the Great Sage's Broken Shell. This shattered form of the Monkey King is the last trial for the Destined One and presents a challenge unlike any in the game. As the fight progresses, the player will take notice of how Sun Wukong's old presence returns to the stone form they are confronting. The Shell will begin to fight with more of Wukong's power, mirroring the player's abilities, and most shocking of all, being able to prevent them from healing, even stealing their gourd in a unique animation.

  • The Great Sage's Broken Shell uses the player's techniques against them.

  • It has amusing animations where it messes with the Destined One.

It truly drives home how the player is just battling a mirror of themselves who is well aware of all their tricks. They will need to conserve resources before reaching the final stage of the fight, but this is one of the most cinematic moments in the game, where the combat itself tells the tale of a legacy being passed on to a promising candidate. The player just has to prove that hours of grinding in the game were worth it in the end.

Erlang, The Sacred Divinity Is the True Final Boss

black myth wukong boss

The opening boss fight where players get to experience the divine power of Sun Wukong is also the secret boss of the game's true ending. After successfully defeating the Great Sage's Broken Shell, the Destined One is confronted by Erlang, who wishes to test if the Destined One is truly a worthy successor to his old nemesis. As it turns out, Erlang has a counter for just about every move the player could make in a fight. With his own health shielded by a defense bar, players must whittle down his protection to even wound him slightly.

  • Erlang is the true final boss of the game.

  • He has counters for every move the player can make.

Even then, Erlang has attacks that can wipe the player's health out in one strike. This is all just the opening stage though — once the player progresses far enough, Erlang confronts them in his gigantic lion form, and the Four Heavenly Kings make an appearance as well. It is truly a test worthy of the Monkey King's successor, but players will need to use every trick in the book to win.
